About Matthew

Matthew did his PGA training at the world famous Turnberry Hotel, host venue to 4 Open Championships. He progressed through the ranks to lead the golf Academy team at The Colin Montgomerie Links Golf Academy. During this 9 year period Matthew interacted with some of the best players and coaches in Golf, Including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Gary Player, Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie, Butch Harmon and Bob Torrance 

Matthew then spent 8 years in Dubai based at The Montgomerie Dubai where he coached at some of the top European Tour events including The Middle East Swing, Irish Open and BMW Championship at Wentworth. 

 He returned to the UK in 2016 to take up the role of Head Professional at Close House where he coached/managed the Northumbria Uni Elite Golf Squad to Team and Individual honours.
